14 Ghanaians awarded Australian Masters scholarshi
Australia has awarded scholarship to 14 Ghanaians to pursue various Masters programmes in the 2015 academic year.

The 14 Ghanaians are amongst over 200 African scholarship winners to benefit from the scheme.
The Australian Awards program is a prestigious international scholarship programme which targets committed people who will return home and contribute to the development of their home countries.
Since its inception in 2010, over 200 Ghanaians have had the opportunity to study in Australia in both long-term masters programmes and short course Fellowship Awards.
At a ceremony organized for the recipients, the Charge d’Affairs of the Australian High Commission, Tim Millikan said the scholarship was his outfit’s recognition that education plays a central function in development.
The reception was part of a three-day workshop in Accra 17 – 19 November hosted by the Australian Government, where 14 scholars from Ghana learned how to successfully relocate and study in Australia.
He noted that the Australian government is very pleased with the success of the scholarship programme in Ghana because it is an investment in the development of future leaders of the country.
“In providing this scholarship, the Australian government’s objective is to provide high-quality education and training to talented Ghanaians professionals who,panerai replica watches on their return to their home will be in a better position to make an important contribution to national or regional development,” he added.
He urged the recipients to come back home to serve their countries after completion of their courses.

The Australian Government opened applications for the latest round of Australia Awards Scholarships and the shorter-term Australia Awards Fellowships on 1 September 2014. Applications for Masters Awards close on 12 December and Fellowships close on 16 January.
The Australia Awards promotes equal participation by both women and men and encourages women to apply. The initiative also aims to ensure that people with disability are given a fair and equal opportunity has put arrangements in place to support applicants and Awardees who require specific assistance and support.
