Nene Sakite II - Konor Of Manya Krobo Traditional Council
Another year is here again full of promises and wisdom. God's promises continue to give us hope and assurance that there are better days ahead of us. During the past year we were faced with several challenges, the most noticeable among them is the supreme court cases on Akuse which kept on propping up throughout the year. On the 28th of October 2014, just a few days before Ngmayem we appeared at the supreme court again and we were victorious. My promise to the people of Manya Krobo is that we shall win any case thrown at us from each corner. Sooner or later these these issues will pass away. It will not be pleasant due to the time and the associated cost that come with it. But we shall prevail and your support and prayers are needed to silence our foes once and for all.
A few years back as some of you may recall, in 1999 I set up an Economic Revitalization Committee to plan the development road map for the state of Manya Krobo. This initiative included several Krobo scholars and professional . They worked on this idea for less than a year but faded away gradually. Well, I am not discourage about that experience because we are back at it again but this time around we have learnt from the prior experience and would make sure that our efforts would yield positive results bu the grace of the Almighty. I have therefore established an Advisory committee to plan the economic development of Manya Krobo on more time for the 21st century. We are endowed with enormous amount of natural resources which with proper planning we'll all gain by it.
For the past few months this well meaning group have been examining the number of creative and innovative options for mobilizing and advancing the economic, cultural and social interest of Manya Klo. An important component of this is the design and development of high quality, attractive marketing and promotional campaign, as well as transformation of our ancestral home for tourism.
Currently though the mobilization effort to make the Kloyom a tourist heaven is ongoing and would continue, no matter what. Believe me; nobody in his wright mind can sell kloyom to any individual as some of you were made to believe. There is certainly no truth to what you may have heard. You cannot put a price tag to our ancestral home. IT IS NOT FOR SALE.
As we embark on our development initiatives, we have developed some information technology toos to support our larger vision. A few of us, including Nene Kwesi Detsse, Manoyami Matse as well as Mr. Boakey Agyarko have teamed up to donate some resources to continue to build this high quality website to start this important process. We appreciate this effort.
The website will be marketing, resource development, educational and socializing tool for all those who are interested in the well being of Manya Klo. We envision a tool that is powerful and attractive space for business advertising, cultural education and archiving, museum, marketing of Manya Krobo's economic, cultural, social and human resources and finally for promoting Manya Krobo as an attractive tourist destination with rich historical and cultural traditions and natural beauty. This is exactly the message presented to the individuals who I have entrusted the planning of the economic development initiative. I have personally called this effort “The Resurrection Hope”
One thing you must all remember is that Manya Krobo, I strongly believe, is in the centre of the earth. That's what I see and feel. Just take the world map and see our location, right on the Greenwich Meridian “0, 0”. From London, Odumase then Tema. With this in mind I have started looking into this assertion carefully through biblical literature and with God's direction we'll confirm it. I stongly believe, I stongly believe that the almighty God has something unimaginable for us and by faith we'll get it. You remember caleb!!! Just stay tune.
Have a joyful Ngmayem festival. Make a Joyful Noise.<< Back
